Kihon: a. Tetsui-uke (hammer block): when swinging your arm, take power completely off; then when striking the opponent use all your power; b. Tetsui-gyakuzuki (hammer block-reverse punch) combination; c. Tetsui-uraken (hammer block-back-fist strike) combination; d. Fumikomi (stomping kick)

Kumite: Sanbon-gumite (three-time engagement), without using arms to block-mentality goes into the opponent as body evades the attacks

Seniors

Kata: Jutte

 

Kihon: study of uke (blocks), blocks as attacks

 

Kumite: basic ippon-gumite using hanmi (half facing stance)

Kihon: Shuto-uke (sword-hand block); kokutsu-dachi (back stance)

 

Kumite: Sanbon-gumite (three-time engagement)

 

Seniors

Kata: Bassai (“To penetrate a fortress"

Kihon: Continuous attacks with one breath

Kumite: Torite (escaping techniques), sitting and standing forms, Katate-dori (one-hand hold) and ryote-dori (two-hand hold): a. move elbow into opponent’s elbow; b. thrust hand down between opponent’s legs; c. escape technique from Heian Sandan; d. escape technique from Kanku; e. escape technique from Heian Shodan [Escaping when the opponent’s right hand grasps your right wrist] f. step back with left leg into kibadachi while raising your fist, then with ippon-ken (one-finger fist) strike down on the opponent’s wrist to break the hold, then immediately execute uraken to the opponent’s temple; g. step back with right leg into kibadachi and retract your right wrist, bringing the opponent’s elbow in front of your face, then by placing your left palm under the elbow hold it in a locked position to control the opponent.

Kumite: Jiyu ippon-gumite (one-time engagement); study of Nagewaza (throwing techniques)
